Take a Virtual Calligraphy Class

Kick back, relax and learn a new skill while you’re staying at home!

I joined Sip & Script as a calligraphy instructor in February. I’ve already been teaching my own hand lettered DIY classes, and am really excited to be teaching pointed pen classes, too! A little background on Sip & Script - it’s all about teaching fun, laid-back modern calligraphy classes at local venues. It was founded by two calligrapher friends, Meg and Julie, in the Boston area a few years ago and has grown to a group of instructors teaching classes across the country! It is really cool being part of a community of talented ladies & I’m loving it so far!

While obviously I wish we could be doing in-person classes right now, virtual classes are the next best thing. And calligraphy is the perfect quarantine activity because it is so relaxing! The smooth flow of the ink and soft scratch of the nib can be seriously therapeutic.

I have several May classes lined up so you can choose the day and time that works best for you!

How it works

  • Tickets are $25 for an hour-long class

  • Classes cover the basics of modern calligraphy and are a great way to start learning or as a refresher if you’ve dabbled in calligraphy before!

  • You’ll receive a Google Meet or Hangouts link 24 hours before class

  • At the class time, join class and come ready to learn and have fun! Comfy clothes and fancy drinks encouraged :)

    • You don’t have to turn your camera on if you don’t want to! Totally your preference!

    • If you have questions, you can either just ask them verbally or through the chat box!

What supplies do you need?

You need a nib, nib holder, ink and paper! You can purchase these things on your own if you want or use what you have if you’ve dabbled in calligraphy before! I have a list of supplies I like on my Amazon page.

Sip & Script is also selling a great beginner kit with everything you need to start learning! Grab yours here and allow up to a week for it to get to you in the mail!

I’m particularly looking forward to my Mother’s Day class on Sunday, May 10 - it’ll be something fun and different to do with your mom, even though you can’t physically be together!

If one of my classes doesn’t work for you, check out the other dates and times our other wonderful instructors are offering!
