Hand Lettered Pumpkins Class Recap

In the spirit of fall fun, for October’s class we switched things up from the usual welcome mats classes and did hand lettered pumpkins at Hysteria Brewing Company! This class was my biggest yet, with 28 attendees.

Attendees had the option to choose real or faux pumpkins in orange or white. White faux pumpkins were the most popular choice! The faux pumpkins were a great way to make a lasting piece of home decor, since they can be put out again year after year.

Everyone sent me the phrases they wanted on their pumpkins before the class (we had lots of “hello fall”s!) and I sketched the letters out in a basic outline in pencil.

When people arrived, they got a drink ticket for a beer of their choice, and I went over upstrokes & downstrokes and how to do fauxligraphy to give their pumpkins that fancy modern calligraphy look. After that, they chose what color paints they wanted to work with and got painting!

My husband, Tyler, helped get people their paint while I answered questions. He was a huge help!

Attendees got really creative with their pumpkins, adding leaves, vines, using different colors…it was so fun to see what they came up with!
